QUETTA: The Tehsildar of District Lehri was killed in an exchange of firing with the robbers, on Saturday while 6 robbers were also arrested.
Addressing to a press conference at Levis Station Sibi, the Deputy Commissioner Sibi Suhail-ur-Rehman said that the incident of motorbike snatching were a matter of routine in the ‘B’ area of Sibi.
“According to the information that our teams gathered, these bikes were taken to Railo Mian of Lehri district and this area was made a safe haven by the robbers,” he said and added that they received information that the robbers along with their head were present there and Levis conducted a raid.
“Catching the sight of Levis, the robbers started firing which left Tehsildar Lehri Ghulam Qadir martyred,” he said and added that the exchange of firing continued for 4 hours. Resultantly, the head of the gang Rehan Domki, Dhani Bakhsh, Sikandar Noor,Muhammad Rahim Bakhsh, Adam Khan Noor were arrested and 1 LMG China, 1 SMG, 7 MM rifles, 4 motorbikes, one 12 bore rifles were recovered from their custody.
He said, however, some of the accomplices of the accused managed to escape who would soon be arrested.
He said that Government has announced 3 million rupees for the dependants of Shaheed Ghulam Qadir Rind, a plot of 2 million and employment for the son.
