Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri has announced to make legislation against illegal hunting of endangered species, rare birds, animals and chopping off of trees.
While directing Forest and Wildlife, and Livestock Affairs Departments for acquisition of a suitable place for establishing a zoo in Quetta, he said that government would provide the required funds for the construction of zoo as well as a park nearby for the recreation of children.
Heading a high- level meeting the other day, Chief Minister Balochistan strongly directed all concerned departments and districts administrations for taking concrete steps for the promotion and protection of endangered species, rare birds and wildlife across the province. He also directed for taking stern action for protecting the juniper forests in Ziarat, Harboi and Shaban areas.
Nawab Zehri besides directing for initiating a drive for creating awareness about the protection of forests and wildlife among the masses, seminars at divisional and district levels particularly in educational institutions should be held to safeguard the natural beauty of Balochistan.
Chief Secretary Balochistan Saifullah Chattah and other civil and military authorities were also among the attendees in the meeting.
