Protest By BNP And BSO: News Channels Shut Down In All Balochistan

Quetta: Balochistan Cable Operators Association has shut down all news channels of Pakistan in Balochistan due to pressure of protest of Balochistan National Party (BNP) and Baloch Students Organization (BSO).

BSO had announced to block all news channels of Pakistan in protest because these channels ignore the problems of Balochistan. BNP also announced to support the protest of BSO.

Balochistan Cable Operators have decided to keep all the news channels shut till the time when BSO and news channels reach an agreement.

Pakistani news channels completely ignore even the major problems of Balochistan. One of the main reasons for this is that there is no People’s Meter Installed in Balochistan which is used to measure ratings of channels.

There are 675 People’s Meters in entire Pakistan and 365 of them are installed in Karachi alone. There is not a single People’s Meter in all of Balochistan.

BNP and BSO had announced to continue the protest as long as the news channels don’t change their attitude towards Balochistan.
