QUETTA: The inaugural session of the provincial assembly has been called on August 13 when newly elected MPAs will take the oath of their office.
According to the provincial assembly’s secretary, the session of the Balochistan Assembly will start at 11:00am.
The allied parties in the future government include Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Hazara Democratic Party (HDP), Balochistan National Party (BNP-Awami) and Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP). This alliance has nominated Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) president Jam Kamal Khan for the position of chief minister of the province.
The number of BAP legislators with inclusion of the independent candidates who joined the party rose to 18 in the Balochistan Assembly with total of 51 general assembly seats excluding reserved seats whereas the BNP-M has entered in an alliance with the PTI in Centre.
BNP –M and MMA are allies in Balochistan and they have not taken any joint decision whether join Balochistan government or sit on the opposition benches.
