QUETTA: Malinda Good, Country Operational Manager World Bank has said that she really congratulate the Government of Balochistan for the successful execution of World Bank supported projects. It’s very obvious that more resources are required to attain greater achievements, she said this while addressing to the heads of World Bank supported projects today.
She further said that it was a very fortunate that all of the projects initiated through World Bank were going smooth and no oblivious challenges were aroused through these projects.
World Bank has principally agreed to provide assistance in establishing public private partnership (PPP) cell with in planning and development department (P&DD). Policy and sector plans will be the priority of World Banks Plan.
Additional Chief Secretary Qamar Masood showed his gratitude to the World Bank and MDTF Representatives for the Portfolio review meeting of the World Bank’s assisted project. And conveyed that Government of Balochistan is willing to provide maximum support as Government of Balochistan is reaching out the masses at grass root level to invest in human development and their capacity.
Masood also appreciated world banks assistance in improvement of Governance Reforms in Balochistan, he also highlighted that Government of Balochistan had not miss any opportunity to invest in the development of their citizens.
Coordinator Governance and Policy Project (GPP) Mr. Mahfooz Ali Khan while sharing progress regarding GPP stated that GPP is working efficiently to improve the delivery and efficiency of the core government departments through institutional strengthening and support of government of Balochistan, while responding to priority governance needs.
Khan also mentioned that the GPP aims to strengthen and upstream government institutes and downstream (service delivery) government systems.
Meanwhile Secretary Planning Asfandyar Kakar, Chief Foreign aids Mujeeb-ur Rehman, Representative of Multi Donor Trust Fund Ms. Maha Ahmed, Chief Health and Project directors of all the World Bank assisted projects were also present on portfolio review meeting.
