Government Science College Quetta has a history of interfaith harmony. This institute has seen ethnic based violence in past but never on sectarian lines. Few days back an intimidating incident took place in the premises of the hostel of government Science College that destroyed the tranquillity of the institute. Student wing of a sectarian Organization cordoned off the hostel, thrashed the students who opposed their ideas of extremist mobilization. Innocent students were left unattended after extreme physical torture.
Unfortunately, law enforcement agencies have not done anything to apprehend the culprits. No inquiry has been initiated against the perpetrators of that gruesome act. Initially Police was not even willing to register the FIR against the organization who started violence in hostel of Science College. The provincial government of Balochistan ought to consider that each educational institute needs to be under control and political and religious harmony should remain intact in them. Therefore, provincial government needs to act independently and bring guilty to the court of justice. At the same time, government should ensure that hostels of all educational institutes, including Government Science College, are brought under administrative control and cleared from occupation of Student organizations.
