QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that the manufacturers and peddlers of spurious drugs are the enemies of humanity and they deserve no compassion.
“Health department, doctors and police should take action against anti social elements involved in such inhuman act,” he expressed these views while talking to a delegation of medicine traders here on Thursday.
He said that elements selling death in the shape of fake medicines deserve no compassion and action should be taken against such elements under Drug Act and should be brought to justice.
Acting IG police Ahsan Mehboub and officials of health department were also present in the meeting.
Chief Minister strongly directed provincial health minister for taking stern action against elements involved in spurious drugs’ business as government is committed to rid the people from bogus and sub-standard medicines. “Doctors, civil society and people hailing from all schools of thought must play their role in eradication of business of fake medicines and identify such elements so that government can take action against them,” he added.
He also strongly directed police not to create problem for traders in the garb of action against fake medicines and make investigation in accordance with the law adopting all legal formalities.
