Quetta: Rebel separatists Tuesday killed 14 people, including three security officers, after stopping vehicles at a fake checkpoint in Balochistan.
According to the report, armed men kidnapped 22 passengers last night from five buses going to Rajanpur from Quetta and late killed 14 of them. The incident took place near Mach town of Balochistan’s Bolan district.
The sources said “Militants stopped seven passenger buses and allowed two Sindh-bound buses to go. CNIC’s of the passengers were checked before taking them away.”
Provincial home secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani told AFP “Rebel separatists blocked the road in two places. First they took away five Frontier Corps (FC) men from a patrol vehicle, tied them up and snatched their walkie-talkies and weapons,”
“The rebels then stopped two Punjab-bound buses and took away 13 labourers. Security forces’ personnel chased after them, but the rebels fired off a rocket that killed one security office.” Durrani said.
“Then they lined them up in the mountains and killed 13,” added Durrani.
Meanwhile, security forces carried out a search operation the area and claimed to have freed eight remaining abductees from the clutches of Baloch militants. No arrest was made in the operation.
