Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) files petition against census        

 

Quetta: Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) filed a review petition in Balochistan High Court and Supreme Court of Pakistan Quetta Registry on the issue census in Balochistan, here on Friday.

According to the Information Secretary of BNP-Mengal, Agha Hasan Baloch Advocate   that the BNP  has appealed  in the petition that the party and Baloch people have reservations about conducting census in the presence of Afghan refugees in Balochistan.

“The petition pleads  that over one million Baloch population had migrated to Sindh and other area of the country as internally displaced persons and families due instability in different areas of Balochistan.” Agha Hasan Baloch informed

Agha Hasan Baloch said that conducting census in the presence of Afghan refugees would be injustice with Baloch since Afghan refugees had been settled in various areas of Balochistan.

He said, “Party had submitted that census should be delayed till returning of Baloch residents to their own areas of Balochistan and sending Afghan refugees back to Afghanistan.”

The Government of Pakistan has scheduled census after March 2017, however, Baloch nationalists have huge reservation on conducting census in presence of Afghan refugees.
