Book Fair Held In University Of Balochistan

Quetta – A book fair was held in University of Balochistan (UOB) in order to market world books day, on Thursday.

Book Fair was organized in education department of UOB from 9 AM to 2 PM. Book fair was arranged by two non-governmental Organizations namely; ActionAid and DOST Balochistan.

Book fair was attended by students of UOB in large numbers. Students checked the books on different bookstalls and purchased books as well.

At the book fair, books were sold by Mehrdar Institute Balochi Academy, Brahvi Academy, Pashto Academy, Institute of development Studies and Practices (IDSP) and Kalat Publishers. All book stalls offered discount on the books in different ranges.

“I believe a new era of book loving and reading has been ushered in Balochistan by book fairs, Abid Mir, Head of Mehrdar Institute told The Balochistan Point. “We are planning to arrange a literature festival in Balochistan in June this year,” added Mr. Mir

23rd April is celebrated all around the world as World Book day. This day is celebrated with the aim of encouraging people to read books which has become a dying trend.
