Chief Minister Balochistan Monitored Security of Ashura Processions in Quetta

QUETTA:  Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch on Tuesday monitored the security of Ashura processions in person through CCTV cameras in command and control room established in Inspector General (IG) Police office.

Chief Minister Balochistan accompanied by Provincial Home Minister Mir Sarfiraz Bugti, Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Nasir Janjua, GOC Major General Aftab Ahmed, Chief Secretary Balochistan Saifullah Chatta, IGFC Major General Shahid Ejaz, Secretary Home Akbar Hussain Durrani, IG Police Hamlish Khan and other high ups monitored security measures and processions routes for 6 consecutive hours.

On the occasion, Chief Minister was given a thorough briefing about security measures taken on the eve of Muharramul Haram and Ashura processions. Chief Minister was briefed that the procession routes were being monitored with cameras after setting up latest control room.

During the monitoring, a suspicious substance on a route of procession was witnessed upon which security personnel deployed at the area were directed to scrutinize the suspicious substance.
