Congo virus: 10 dead, patients’ toll hits 27 in Balochistan

Quetta: Congo virus patients’ toll has hit 27 in Balochistan, while ten patients have died so far.

12-year-old boy has been diagnosed with Congo Virus on Saturday taking the total number of patients in Balochistan to 27. Another patient Abdul Wali was also diagnosed with Congo virus around four days ago in the Hospital. 

Sources told “another patient, 37-year-old Abdul Malik who hails from Shikarpur was admitted to Fatima Jinnah General and Chest Hospital on suspicion of the same disease.”

The total number of people who were admitted to different hospitals for scan for the fatal virus in Balochistan stands at 94 out of which 27 were found positive.

One of the affected patients, 55-year-old Rehmatullah who was under treatment, died on Friday, taking the death toll to 10 in Balochistan.

Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) spreads through vectors that carry the virus found in cattle.
