GWADAR: Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would provide number of opportunities to our people and also promote investment. He stated this while addressing an inaugural ceremony of Gwadar Expo 2018 and first phase of Gwadar Free Zone here on Monday.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was the chief guest on the occasion. Chief Minister Balochistan said that CPEC was a game changer which would open new era of development for the people of the province.
Abdul Quddus Bizenjo said: “With the assistance of federal government the educational institutions throughout the province would be improved. It would be ensured that people of province get clean drinking water and better treatment facilities in the hospitals, adding that Balochistan government had been able to successfully co-operate with stakeholders of CPEC in the broader interest of the country.”
He said that Balochistan holds great importance due to its geographical location and abundant natural resources. It has less population and large number of unexplored resources. This ratio of population and resources are a blessing for the development of any region.
Chief Minister sought the assistance of federal government for fulfilling the water and electricity needs of emerging city of Gwadar. He added that connecting Gwadar to the national grid and the water pipeline project from Shadi Kodeteam to Gwardar is important in this regard. These two projects can meet water and electricity requirements of Gwadar.
CM Bizenjo expressed the hope that Expo would be a source of communication between local and international investors will promote investment not only in Gwadar but in whole country.
