Suleman Hashim

Gwadar – Chairman Municipal Committee Gwadar, Abid Sohrabi announced 20,000 rupees for Syed Zahoor Shah Hashmi Degree College Gwadar during a college function conducted for welcome of new students, on Tuesday.

Addressing the students, Chairman Municipal Committee emphasized, “CPEC and other mega projects will bring plentiful opportunities for the youth of Gwadar but the youth should bear in mind that the only way to benefit from those opportunities is to be educated and skilled hence the students should continue their efforts and hard work to be the future leaders and owners of their resources.”

“A number of doctors, engineers, lawyers and teachers from Gwadar are the outcome of Syed Zahoor Shah Hashmi Degree College. This year several students left the so-called largest and the most expensive Higher Secondary School GDA and joined the Degree College. Similar to any government run college in the province, in the midst of lack of resources, the few lecturers we have at college, worked their hardest for the students and their academics.” The principal said during the event.

A lecturer shared that being the only Degree College in the port city, Syed Zahoor Shah Hashmi Degree College is a center of knowledge for more than 1,500 students both male and female. The college already had issues due to small number of teaching staff and lack of equipments and now the increasing number of students is a matter to be concerned about.
