Letter: Issues of roads In Turbat

Sami Pervez

I am writing this article about the most critical issue for local people of Turbat. I don’t know whether I should be thankful or thankless to Chief Minister (CM) of Balochistan for constructing these roads. The construction work is still incomplete and the road construction teams have left. Same teams have started working on four-lane Pasni road. They have to finish one project then they have to start second one. They are just playing with the emotions of the poor people. So, due to this purpose people are suffering .There is no proper ways for vehicles to travel as well for the pedestrians. Everyone is also in hard water due to lack of comfortable roads. By the way, after initiating the construction of roads CM also ordered that “all shops which are on main road must be destroyed and these should be rebuilt in a proper way.” Now the question will be raised that who will serve these common people if their shops would be destroyed? This is their only source of income to support their families and homes. At the starter of construction of roads, constructor destroyed all footpaths of main roads of Turbat. People have invested a great deal of resources for decorating those footpaths.

In fact, I want to pose a query to CM of Balochistan that where you were at the time when as a minister of Balochistan when these roads were constructed? Why didn’t you stop them that time? Near cinema road which moves toward Chahsar, that road is also out of order but we are compelled to use it. Recent outpour of rain created loads of difficulties for people. Because there was no way to go to bazaar, complete roads were full of water. These are very terrible issues from which everyone is suffering. I also want to make u aware that near Aga Khan Laboratory and Allah-Wala market there is also water freeze for long time ago. It’s very simple if Metropolitan Corporation brings their tanker just take the water out from there. But no one is ready to listen or to act. In a nutshell, we hope CM of Balochistan, Abdul Malik Baloch, will take prompt action against this issue and allow the residents of his home town to live an easy life.
