Letter: Lassitude Of Balochistan Public Service Commission

Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) is supposed to be the most transparent organization in conducting test for civil services and high grade positions. Unfortunately, it has become an epitome of lethargy. After advertising vacant positions, the whole process from submission of applications to conducting test takes minimum five to six months. The later procedure of result and interview and final list delays the whole process to one year or even two years in some cases.

National Testing Service (NTS) and Balochistan Testing Service (BTS) charge a bit more as compared to BPSC but excessive amount spent on photocopies of documents for single BPSC post outdoes charges of NTS and BTS. These testing bodies are far more efficient and a lot more transparent compared to BPSC. Not only do they announce results within two weeks for the MCQ tests, they also ensure transparency by providing candidates with carbon copies of their answer sheets so that the candidates can calculate their own scores by matching their answers with the answer key uploaded on respective website.

BPSC has been following the old era procedure of recruitment. In this modern age, BPSC should digitalize application procedure to save applicant’s precious time and self-respect. It is, therefore, requested from Chairman BPSC and Chief Minister to take measures to expedite the process of result-declaration because it is the very essence of any testing organization.
