Letter: NTS Recruitment Test Fee, Unacceptably High In Balochistan

Zafarullah Barech

There is hue and cry of laud among the masses of Balochistan for current government and their initiative for announcing vacancies in education department. Likewise departmental tests have been assigned to National Testing Service (NTS) due to its good reputation. The fee reserved for test is 1000 Rs per appearance.  There are 4359 vacancies announced throughout province and numerous graduates waiting for recruitment.

According to my poor guesswork if 20,000 applications are submitted for vacancies, the amount exceeds 20 million, which is turned as a source of income rather than facilitation. Even Public Service Commissions, both provincial and Federal, do not charge huge amount for its appearance as those recruitments are far above the ground as compared to department of education. They charge Rs 300 from 1-16 and Rs 500 from 17 and above.

According to one source it has been perceived that (NTS) charged Rs 30 in Sindh per appearance. Unemployed candidates wait for entire month for their pocket money which is hardly 2-3 thousand and their pockets won’t permit them to apply for more than one vacancy. In general (NTS) reserved fee is Rs 600 but here mentioned is Rs 1000. Isn’t it astounding? It is a far from my perception that whether they are going to hire competent and righteous masses or it’s contemporary method to loot the poor masses. Therefore, I humbly request the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, to look into the matter seriously and direct the authorities to reduce the NTS fee.
