Quetta: University of Balochistan (UOB), the largest public sector University of Balochistan, is facing severe crisis due to mismanagement and political interference.
In continuation of anti-student policies by administration of UOB, the fee of M.Phil has been increased to 200,000 which are unaffordable for under privileged students of the province.
Examination department of UOB is on the verge of collapse. The department is manned by temporary staffs who are taking decisions to benefit themselves and their relatives at the cost of students, according to sources privy to the internal situation of examination department.
During B.A – B.Sc exams of last year a university student was appointed a superintendent in an examination center. This is just an example of how decisions are taken on the basis of nepotism in examination department of UOB.
According to sources from UOB, people having linkages with Pashtunkhaw Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) have occupied all important position in UOB. These people are making decisions to benefit themselves and their related ones while destroying the education system of the university.
The student wing of ruling National Party, BSO-Pajjar, often laments the political interference of PKAMP in UOB affairs. The deterioration of the educational standards in UOB is another achievement for Dr. Malik led government.
