Research opportunity for SBKWU M.Phil and P.hD scholars

Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University is Pakistan’s second and first women’s University in Balochistan that is delivering its services since 2004 with an objective to give a quality education to every woman. Having strength of more than 7000 students and thousands of alumni the university proof that its academics or non academics activities, educational conferences, sports festivals are remarkable name in the field of education.

The university is awarding scholarships to hundreds of students either it’s indigenous or foreign. It’s the only platform through which the females of Balochistan can get not only quality education but also can   the equal opportunity to get education in the other renowned institutes of the country. We must and should appreciate the kind efforts of Prof Dr Rukhsana Jabeen vice chancellor SBKWU in this regard.

SBKWU is concentrating research with the help of Higher Education Commission and has provided rich environment to the scholars and faculty to contribute in the field at campus. Currently 300 M.Phil and P.hD scholars are getting higher education in SBKWU. Most of them have completed their course work and are engaged in research work.

 In same continuation, Higher Education Commission has approved a project titled “Provision of Academic and Research Activities at SBKWU”. Under project scientific equipment for different departmental labs will be procured. It is worth mentioning here that SBKWU 200 research scholars will also be sent to different renowned institutions research laboratories of country to complete their research work under the supervision of qualified researchers in phases. SBKWU will provide stipend, living, medical, travelling expenses of scholar and complete bench fee of the host institution as well.

In 1st Phase 73 M.Phil / P.hD Scholars applied for this grant and 46 scholars were selected on merit. Now, they have continued with their research work in different renowned institutes of county like PCSIR, NUST, COMSATS, HEJ, Quaid-e-Azam University, Punjab University and other HEI of the country.

In phase II more 80 students have applied for this grant and student will be sent to different HEI to complete their research work by Feb 2017

 HEC has approved applications of  30 scholars from Chemistry Department who will carry their academic and research activities Quaid-e-Azam University, NUST and PCSIR for 6 Months.

The Department of Chemistry is one of the first departments of the SBKWU; with a very active staff .The Department is well equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation to support its research. It is the goal of the Chemistry Department to provide students with a solid foundation in the physical sciences.
