Uthal – Baloch Students Action Committee (BSAC) Uthal Zone has condemned the hike of fees in Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS) Uthal.
Students are upset as LUAWMS administration had raised the fees two times, learnt the Balochistan Point.
An activist of BSAC Uthal zone, Sana Baloch told Balochistan Point that it’s a conspiracy against the students that “we must not get education”. “LUAWMS semester fees are already too high for the students of backward province of Balochistan,” added Sana Baloch.
“Fees, for 2016 session have been raised twice. First it was Rs. 14,000 for new admissions and now it has been raised to Rs. 22,000. Fee per semester was Rs. 7,400 and now it has been raised to Rs. 15,800,” Mr. Sana added.
Hiking the fees is the sign of education rivalry, protestors added.
At the present time Lasbela university fees is much higher than rest of Balochistan universities and medical and engineering colleges.
“We have protested before against the rising of fees and also we do it,” Said BSAC members. “If administration doesn’t take its step back then we will boycott the classes and sit on the protest until they won’t take their decision back,” activist added.
