Al Ghani Welfare Trust: A privilege for the people of Khuzdar

 By: Muhammad Qasim Baloch

The core idea of understanding others intellectually, culturally and emotionally is important for any social activist. Without understanding or empathy, it is almost impossible to help people. Empathy is the ability to imagine oneself in someone else’s shoes and feel what the person is experiencing and going through. Empathy is a primal feeling that can be understood and honed. Most people who choose to be social activists are already naturally empathic within their hearts of heart.

The privilege for the people of district Khuzdar is  having a marvelous organization: “Al Ghani Welfare Trust”, filled with such great selfless people. The said Trust was established by Shaheed Atta Ullah Mengal. It has been working day and night to facilitate the people of Jhalawan for a long time with sheer determination and great sincerity.

The siblings of Shaheed Atta Ullah Mengal, founder of AGWT Hafiz Hameed Ullah Mengal and Saad Ullah Mengal are taking ahead his vision that “helping others is the greatest inborn quality of a human being. There are several ways to aid people, who are in need of help. As it costs nothing but the person who receives it, gets everything.” Help is a word that implies assistance in doing certain kind of work. It can include several factors such as financial help; mental help; physical help, etc. No matter what kind of aid you offer; no matter whom you help; it is more important to notice that another person is gaining something just because of you and your help.

There are many people in Khuzdar, who need financial support, many students in this district, who cannot complete their education because of lack of resources and many handicapped people, who cannot earn enough money to survive. These people actually need supporting hands to fight against destiny and AGWT is performing the role of protagonist of these supporting hands. By helping those people, who are less fortunate in all possible ways. In this way, they are helping them in achieving success, students in completing their education, and handicapped people to live a restful life.

Our community is a very generous in aiding those facing a variety of needs, but through personal experience, AGWT recognized that many local thalassemia and cancer patients and their families often face unnecessary hardship.  As cancer is often a family diagnosis, the challenges faced by families tend to go beyond health care. AGWT was created to be financial gap filler for all needy people.

The Trust offers financial assistance to the penurious people for the everyday costs associated with cancer treatment, thalassemia including ambulance services, housing, food, and other supplements even in far-flung areas of district Khuzdar.
