Balochistan and Politics

By: Sharif Nuhaaq Baloch

All previous government came to power but consequential did nothing for Baloch which worked as a fuel to the fire of creating obstacles against the ongoing developmental projects in Balochistan. In the regime of Asif Ali Zardari major concerns were Sindh and corruption, in the era of Nawaz Sharif the concerns shifted from Sindh to Punjab but corruption remained the major entity. I hope, from 2018 to 2023 the concern would be Pakistan not KPK and corruption.

The point is that there is a distinct lack of vision in our political mainstream, vision for a collective and integrated future is still missing, which causes the country to bleed. Not only regional politics but also the negligence by federal government, has exacerbated the situation of Balochistan worse.

Baluchistan has suffered and sacrificed more than any other province. Hitherto the problems like poor educational structures, drinking water scarcity, health issues, grinding poverty, missing persons and miserable life standards are pushing Balochistan into the gale of underdevelopment.

As IK has come into power, the eyes and hopes of Baloch people are on him that he will unleash them from the disenfranchise shackles and revamp his strategies for burning Baluchistan. We, Baloch, are well sanguine with IK, might be this time, this government- will do something for Baloch people to zest- will curb all the menace and poultice all wounds. I hope KHAN’s words would be irrevocable.
