Each penny of resources would be spent for the education of the children: Chief Minister Balochistan

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has pledged that each penny of resources would be spent for the education of the children. “We fully support the policies of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif over good governance and against extremism,” he stated this while addressing to an event of “Prime Minister’s Free Reimbursement Programme” that held at Governor’s House here on Wednesday.

Federal Finance Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar,Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON), Lt. Gen. (Retd)Abdul Qadir Baloch, Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Balochistan Senior Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri and MPAs were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Balochistan said that provincial government was grateful to Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Federal Minister Ishaq Dar that they started the process of fee reimbursement of expenditures of students from Balochistan. “Providing education to the children is our constitutional responsibility, therefore the provincial government increased educational budget from 2 per cent to 24 per cent,” he said, adding that educational emergency had been declared in the province to improve the sector.

Chief Minister, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch said that his government is taking practical and earnest steps for eradication of cheating in exams, provision of 8.3 million free books to children. “Six new universities and 3 medical colleges are being constructed in Balochistan,” he added.

He said that for the provision of basic facilities to schools and addressing the shortage of teachers Rs 62 billion are required, adding that federal government and other supporting organizations would have to play their role in this connection.

He said that after ten years the universities of the province have come on their right track and no student would be deprived of education because of no fee. “In Federal Development Programme the committee of Balochistan Committee should be consulted,” Mr. Baloch said.

Chief Minister said that students should take full advantage of education friendly policies of federal and provincial governments. He said the ignorance from Balochistan could only be finished through light of education, love and brotherhood and masses in this regard ought to support the government.
