Mobile Phone Service Suspended In 8 Districts Of Balochistan Including Quetta

QUETTA: Mobile phone service has been blocked in 8 districts of Balochistan including Quetta by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority on request of Balochistan government.

Mobile phone service will stay suspended on 3rd and 4th November from 9 am to 9 pm.

Apart from Quetta, Mobile phone service has been suspended in Bolan, Mastung, Sibi, Naseerabad, Jaffararbad, Loralai and Zhob districts of Balochistan.

“Mobile Phone service has been blocked due to security concerns said Akbar Hussain Durrani,” Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs Balochistan.

Shutting down Mobile phone service has become a norm on Ashura and other sensitive events.

“It’s completely unjustified and unfair to shut down cell phone service in those areas where Ashura Processions don’t take place,” a citizen told The Balochistan Point. “Shutting down cell phone service is acceptance of failure by Balochistan government,” added the citizen.
