QUEETA: Three day anti-polio campaign will launch in 19 districts of Balochistan from Monday, said Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) Balochistan Coordinator Syed Faisal Ahmed.
He stated that during the campaign more than 1808438 children will be administered polio vaccine. Security arrangements for the campaign had been completed.
He said during the campaign, around 6761 teams would be in the field with 5934 mobile teams, 495 fixed sites and 332 transit points.
The campaign would start in, Quetta, Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Barkhan, Chagai Jafarabad, Kila Saifulah, Loralai, Musa Kheel, Naseerabad, Zhob, sheerani, Jhal Magsi, Khuzdar, Kohlu, Lasbella, Mastung, Noshki and Dera Bugti districts.
He assured to have full proof security arrangements with the deployment of Balochistan Levies, police and frontier corps personnel. “Polio virus is still present in our environment as per environmental samples report and we are worried that the virus can affect any child any time specially those who had less immunity against the disease.” Syed Faisal Ahmed
