Unnecessary Delay In Recruitment Process In Balochistan

QUETTA: An unnecessary delay has been witnessed in the recruitment process in jobs of Balochistan government.

Tests for the jobs of Medical officers, drug inspectors and Pharmacists were conducted two month ago by Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC). Still result has not been announced.

Similarly, recruitment process of Assistance engineers in Communication and Works (C&W) department is also at a halt. Result of recruitment was announced more than 3 months ago and still candidates are waiting for interview call letters.

Hundreds of jobs were announced in different departments of Balochistan government couple of months ago. Thousands of candidates have applied for them and still there is no sign of announcement of test dates for majority of the vacancies.

“We are afraid that these vacancies might be cancelled due to political differences in Balochistan government,” said Abdul Haleem, a job applicant, while talking to The Balochistan Point.

A government servant, who requested not to be named, told The Balochistan Point that “There are serious differences between coalition partners of Balochistan government about jobs. All parties want their men to get the jobs and that is the reason for delay in recruitment process.”

No recruitment in public sector of Balochistan took place from November 2012 till mid of this year. This has resulted in increasing the number of applicants and the frustration of unemployed at the same time.

“Delay in job recruitment due to petty politics is another example that current government of Balochistan doesn’t care about the people of this province,” said an analyst.
