Another Perspective: Plight Of School Teachers

Sami Parvez

I am writing this article as a rebuttal to Flip Side of the Story: Plight of School Teachers written by Atif Abid. Article-19 of constitution of Pakistan allows every citizen to practice freedom of speech. I used my right as enshrined in constitution of this country, when I raised the issue vis-a-vis private school teachers in my article Plight of private School teachers.

First of all, let me make it clear that I am not against anyone. I just highlighted an issue which I knew from a source. Teaching is a noble profession and insult of a teacher is equivalent to tarnishing the image of entire society. After hearing that self-respect of a teacher was undermined in Turbat, it was natural for me to write against this gross injustice. As an active member of civil society and a writer I could not stay quite on this issue. I did what any respectable citizen had done and that is to raise voice against the treatment meted out to the teacher.

Writer of the said article wrote about my article that “This point of the writer that the private schools have become the source of business or earning money is completely incorrect.” An anonymous person narrated to me the entire story and I discussed it in my last article. I stand my ground and still claim that event about teachers, as described by me, happened and private schools are a source of earning money. If the writer wants any profit, I will be more than pleased to furnish and present through the platform of The Balochistan Point.

Though I totally disagree with the writer’s view point, still I appreciate him for raising objections about some contents of my article. I welcome any response to this article by the author of the said article. In the end, I stand by all claims that I have made, in my last article.
