Lack of facilities and doctors create difficulties for patients at Civil Hospital Turbat

TURBAT: Civil hospital Turbat is the only governmental hospital in the city but it is having several problems. Every day, hundreds of people visit the hospital but most of them are deprived of facilities to have for better treatment. These patients belong to poor families and come from the rural areas of Turbat, traveling a long distance.

The patients complain about lack of doctors in the hospital. Talking to scribe a patient said: “The doctors are not present during their duty time as they give more purity to the private hospitals.”

According to the local people the government never pays attention to the hospital and its requirements. Besides doctors, shortage of medicines is also the main issue in the hospital.

Electricity is another problem in the hospital since there is no alternate for the power. Load shedding continues for hours and patients remain  in in high temperature.

The patients complain that wards for patients are not cleaned. “There is lack of proper management and beds.” Said a patient.

The civil society members’ and social activists in Turbat say that Civil Hospital Turbat is the only governmental hospital in the city, so government should take tangible measures to provide facilities to the people and lessen their sufferings.
