Nok Kundi Needs a Press Club

Hassan Baloch

Chagai – Nok Kundi is a town in district Chagai with a population of more than 25,000 people.

Nok Kundi is the tehsil that contains Rekodiq Gold mines and more than 100 marble mines.

However, People of Nok Kundi are deprived in different ways and they don’t even have a Press Club amongst other things.

Press plays an important role in any society by highlighting different issues and problems faced by people. Press can function only if journalists can gather at one place which is called a Press Club.

Unfortunately, Nok Kundi does not have any registered Press Club and neither any building where journalists can meet and perform their journalistic duties.

Absence of a Press Club is hurting people of Nok Kundi as their problems are not being highlighted at the concerned forums. Nok Kundi faces problems such as scarcity of drinking water, Load shedding, Health facilities and unemployment amongst others.

In this context, Nok Kundi needs a Press Club where the most basic problems of the area can be highlighted and ultimately resolved by government authorities.

Journalists and Civil Society of Nok Kundi demand from Chief Minister Balochistan, Member of Provincial Assembly from Chagai and District Chairman Chagai to establish a Press Club in Nok Kundi and contribute in resolving problems of local people.
