Unwise Decision: Studying Away From Home

Sami Parvez

We have to bring an education revolution in our society. Let’s break this trend which has been created by some unreasonable students who say that we can’t study at our home. When I asked them why? They replied that presence of T.V, mobile and computers at home makes it impossible to study. I say that they don’t know that they are more comfortable studying at home. Out of the city they will face numerous hurdles. They have to cook food, wash their clothes and they have to do all their tasks themselves. If the students think for a moment before making decision to study away from home then they will realize that there are completely wrong. The question is that who is going to think about this most critical matter.

Today most of the students in Turbat want to travel to Karachi or Quetta for matriculation, intermediate and graduate studies. Education system in Turbat is not bad and it hurts me to say that they are neglecting this thing. As you all are aware that in Government Atta Shad Degree College Turbat there are many qualified professors and lecturers. In fact, most of the students don’t have the sense of responsibility. When I ask such students that why don’t you attend classes there? They just give one answer there won’t be regular classes. That’s incorrect because most of the times regular classes are held. It’s just an excuse on the part of irresponsible students and nothing else. The fact is that our youth is becoming lazier day by day. They are not serious and also not willing to take guidelines from their seniors.

If we have a glance on education system of Turbat at college and university level, massive improvements have taken place in last few years. No doubt students are avoiding them due to their idiocy. We are not sincere about our educational futures. In the past many teachers, doctors, engineers, lawyers and many more successful professionals have studied from the same schools and college that students of today are avoiding.

In a nut shell, I want to plead to the new generation of youth that let’s break this trend and study in educational institutes of our home town. Students of Turbat need to take advantage of educational opportunities at home and should not waste the precious resources of their families by studying in Karachi.
