Khuzdar is the second biggest city and one of the most important cities of Balochistan. It is very famous in all over the Pakistan due to its geographical importance. It is unfortunate to say that in this modern era Khuzdar civil hospital lacks modern facilities including other requirements.
According to constitution of Pakistan, it is incumbent upon the government to provide basic health facilities to its citizens, however, in Khuzdar patients have to visit private hospital for treatment due to absence of doctors in public sector hospital.
Millions of funds are released for Khuzdar hospital each year and medicines of worth millions are provided but when any patient visits the civil hospital, it is said that no medicines is available in the hospital. Public is deprived of basic treatment facilities in the Khuzdar civil hospital. Embezzlement of hospital funds and medicines have totally worsened the healthcare system in Khuzdar.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) should take action against those concerned officials of health department who are involved in corruption and inquiry committee should be constituted to conduct inquiry and assess the dismal condition of civil hospital Khuzdar.
