ZHOB: The 22nd All Balochistan Inter-districts Wushu Championship 2018 concluded with an impressive ceremony held in the provincial capital Quetta. The championship was organized by Balochistan Wushu Association, where ten districts teams from Balochistan participated in the event.
Quetta team dominated the tournamnent when its athletes scoped eight gold, two silver and four bronze medals. Loralai team attained the second position and won two gold, four silver, three bronze medals, while Dera Murad Jamali team got the third position and attained two gold, one silver and three bronze medals in the championship. Hamza King Fu To’a Karate academy team led by instructor Anwer Jan Afridi also showed their wonderful performance and won one gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
Director Sports Zafar Baloch was the chief guest of the closing ceremony, who distributed medals and prizes among the winners. He appreciated the association’s efforts for promoting sports in the province.
“Sport is the unique way to make a positive impact on the society. Youth should actively participate in positive activities,” adding it would help in preventing youth from falling into bad activities. Baloch said.
“Our biggest asset is our youth having budding talent. The sports activities are extremely important for youth as the sports play an important role in setting up a healthy society.” He added.
The organizer of the event and president Balochistan Wushu Association Ishaq Ali said the association was very proud of hosting the event. He said Wushu was becoming very popular sport in Balochistan. The tournament was aimed to develop friendly relationship among the youth across the province as it is the effective way to promote tolerance and harmony among the youths. Ishaq Ali said.
