Letter: Pathetic Condition Of Education In Dera Bugti

According to the constitution of Pakistan, Art. 25A the state shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of the age of five to sixteen years but unfortunately Baluchistan has been deprived of fundamental right to Education in general and district Dera Bugti in particular.

As far as the fresh report is concerned, about 89 percent children are out of school in Dera Bugti. There is a dearth of the schools’ buildings, quality of education, electricity, and pure water as well. Most of the schools are closed; a large number of them have a single room and a single teacher. Some of them are at long distances where the students cannot reach.

The Federal Government, specifically National Commission for Human Development must make laws under Art. 22(4) of the constitution, for backward class of citizens up to the mark, and also take notice with an iron hand so that the people of the district may the right to education not only and but also literacy rate may expend.
