Letter: Reality Of Education In Balochistan

There is no denying of the fact that a nation can reach the pinnacle of success only through education. The education sector of Balochistan was neglected by every successive government. Despite imposing educational emergency and increasing the education budget up to 26% the state of education in Balochistan is in very alarming condition.

According to Pakistan Social and Living Standard Measurement (PSLM) survey conducted by Pakistan bureau of statistics, Literacy rate of Balochistan has decreased by 3% in the year 2013-2014. Survey further reveals that male literacy rate is 55% and female is just 25% and overall literacy rate is 43%. These figures totally negate the slogans of Dr Abdul Malik and his allies who claimed for Improving Education system in the province.

Though the government is busy in establishing new schools buildings in the province, it cannot bring any change in education until the quality of education is focused. The condition cannot be improved until the government can change its neglected attitude towards Balochistan. The government should take some solid step with sincerity because without education the dream of peaceful Balochistan would always remain a dream.
