Letter: Rising unemployment in Balochistan

According to a report, yearly 25, 000 people are graduated from Balochistan but unfortunately none of them can secure jobs and almost there are no private jobs in the province. Government of Balochistan is also unable to provide job opportunities. Currently China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is being termed very important for development of province and job opportunities for youth but still no one can hope because the provision of jobs has always been on the basis of favoritism and nepotism.

Due to unemployment the living standard of Balochistan is getting lower with the passage of time, people are lacking their basic needs. Youngsters are becoming the patient of depression and they have been let despondent and government is not taking any serious steps.

It is not guaranteed that the people of Balochistan can get jobs after the completion of CPEC. As In past, the people of Balochistan didn’t get their due shares in mega projects such as: Gwadar Port, Saindak project and Recodik.

More than 30000 jobs were announced in the last government of Nawab Sanullah Zehri but no efforts were done to appoint unemployed youths of Balochistan. Therefore, the current Chief Minsiter of Balochistan and the federal government are requested to provide jobs in Balochistan and make the appointment transparent.
