Social media is one of the key social networking sources for people of the world today. Nearly two billion people in the world today use facebook and millions others use other social media forums. For thousands of people social media has also become source of income. Not everything that has several benefits is positive in every way. Social media too has disadvantages when it is used for unfair means. Although cyber-crime laws to protect citizens have been introduced in most countries of the world but using social media for fair means and using it safely can protect citizens from harm and consequences. Our world has lost huge number of its citizen already because of the very nature of using social media, now it is the time for use as citizens to protect ourselves and our loved ones from negative use of social media and time for government to take major steps to strengthen cyber-crime laws.
