After World War II, on 10 December 1948 Elenor Roosevelt represented the charter of human rights in the United Nations General Assembly. The charter is the combination of thirty articles. The top most articles of UDHR suggest that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
UDHR says that everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it is independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.
There is no denying the fact that UDHR is the foundation for building peace, brotherhood and so forth in a country. No county can build peace without adopting and implementing the UDHR. In Pakistan the disturbance of law and order situations, inequality, barbarity and so forth went on its peak just due to the negligence of UDHR.
It is sad to say that nobody in Pakistan take cares of the rights of next person. No doctor seems punctual in helping the patients in hospital; no police man seems dedicated to taking care the rights of victims. Most importantly, there are countless hurdles in provision of education, select her life decision and so on in Pakistan.
The negligence of UDHR always leads towards wars, conflicts and disharmony in the county. All that we know is that now a day’s some provinces of Pakistan is turned into battle grounds and human it is just because of human rights violation.
Government of Pakistan needs to revisit some important articles of Universal Declaration of Human Rights in a better manner so that the burning situation of country turns into peaceful and harmony.
