Balochistan has witnessed very less polio cases during last two years as compared to past where only one new case of the crippling polio virus was confirmed in Balochistan’s Chaman district during January this year according to media reports.
The details of the polio cases reported from Balochistan from 2010 to 2017 are given as under:
2010-12 2011-73 2012-4 2013-0 2014-25 2015-7 2016-02 2017-01
From above details one can claim that the government of Balochistan has taken very effective measures for eradication of crippling virus from the Balochistan. I want to convey this message to the public that public must help the polio teams in all districts of Balochistan in vaccination of children as in eradication of polio the role and involvement of public is indispensable & crucial.
It is a fact that in rural areas of Balochistan people have no awareness about the effects of this disease due to which they do not give importance to polio vaccination campaigns.
It is hoped that the government will continue its efforts and no stone will be left unturned to interrupt the crippling virus through high quality campaigns on priority basis.
