Key aim of any educational fund is to provide financial Assistance to needy and deserving students, so that their higher education is not stopped or affected because of financial problems.
After delay of two years, Balochistan Government established Balochistan Education Endowment Fund (BEEF) earlier this year. Over 6 months have passed and still BEEF is not yet functional.
Educational institutions have finalized the list of eligible and needy students which were sent to them by Balochistan. However, Government Officials have asked for further verification and the process is yet to be completed. Bureaucratic red-tape is delaying the functionality of BEEF which is condemnable.
Moreover, the last announced endowment fund has not been transferred yet and the next Session has already been announced again without completion of previous one.
I hope CM Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch and Provincial government would take decisive action for quick and fast allocation of Endowment fund in a period when Educational Emergency is imposed.
