Letter: Nepotism in Balochsitan

The practice of nepotism is ubiquitous in many departments of Balochistan where the concerned officials and government stakeholders distribute jobs among their relatives and family members without following a legal method in appointments.

The violation of merit is on its peak and no strict action is being taken to stop the nepotism. No any proper, transparent, fair process is applied in the process of appointments on government jobs.

This practice has created much frustration among the educated youth of Balochsitan. There are thousands of graduates and post graduates who wonder in the capital Quetta in search of government job but on the other hand, recommendation culture has created hurdles fort them to get a government job.

The political patronage appointment practice has totally deprived the educated class of government jobs. If violation of merit continues alike, the department and institutions will suffer from numerous problems due to incompetent staff who are appointed on political and nepotism basis. The high court and NAB authorities are requested to take legal action to stop this illegal practice in Balochistan and ensure merit & transparency in the appointments.
